Description:
The TIES Program, initiated in 1990, is a project of The Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. The program is an intensive, multi-agency effort providing comprehensive homebased services to pregnant and postpartum women and their families affected by alcohol or other drugs and/or HIV. Using a community-oriented approach, this project provides individualized, culturally appropriate services including crisis intervention, support for substance abuse treatment, supportive counseling, child health and development, parenting education, and connection to other community services. The TIES Program aims to: enhance continuing community collaboration in providing services to this population of families; identify and address challenges and resources in partnership with enrolled families; enhance a multiagency system of care providing services to families; and promote the safety, health and well-being for each child in enrolled families. |
